On Being A Support Person – Ken Wilber

Posted by on Aug 20, 2013 in Cool or Curious

This article by philosopher Ken Wilber, “On Being A Support Person” is highly recommended. Wilber wrote this in 1988 during the time he was caring for his wife who had been diagnosed with breast cancer. Wilber later wrote an entire book called Grace and Grit, which told the story of her struggle with cancer. This article was published in the Journal of Transpersonal Psychology and is relevant to both patients and their care givers.

Wilber, a prolific author, is hard to “classify”, but perhaps may best be described as a philosopher of ‘Integral Spirituality’ and a major contributor to the understanding of human consciousness in the modern world.
